How it works · Engagement models

Four shapes. Most people ask for the wrong one.

The model matters more than the rate. Pick the wrong shape and you’ll pay for a relationship that couldn’t have worked.

Model 01

Diagnostic

Short and senior. A read on what’s actually wrong, what I’d do, and whether you need anyone at all. Best when the problem isn’t clearly named yet — which is more often than people admit. Frequently ends the conversation, which is the point.

Model 02

Project

A defined problem with a defined end: a repositioning, a transformation design, a media strategy, a team build. Best when you know the problem and need it solved properly once.

Model 03

Ongoing advisory

A standing relationship — regular cadence, available when real decisions land. Best when you have a team but no senior marketing brain, and continuity is worth more than intensity.

Model 04

Fractional leadership

Embedded, part-time and accountable for a defined scope. The heaviest of the four models, and the one that depends most on fit — it only works where the scope is genuinely contained and the organisation is ready to give a part-time person real authority.

On fees

Fees aren’t published here, for a simple reason: a number without a scope isn’t a price, it’s a negotiation. Cost follows the shape of the work, and the shape follows the diagnosis — so it’s a conversation once the problem is clear, not a rate card before it is.
