I’ve always made things on the side. Some became careers; most were just the fastest way to understand something by building it.
The quickest way for me to understand an idea is to make something with it. Side projects are how I learn — less about the outcome, more about the education of building. A few have grown into something; most simply taught me what I wanted to know.
Blue Pencil Studio
The original side project that became a real one — a digital studio I co-founded at seventeen, pricing websites at eleven rupees, that grew to 40+ SME clients and earned coverage from The Times of India and CNBC’s Young Turks. It taught me that a side project taken seriously stops being a side project.
The ongoing habit
I still build small things — experiments at the intersection of marketing, technology and AI — mostly to understand a shift by getting my hands dirty rather than reading about it. It’s the same instinct as the ₹11 studio, just with better tools.
