Tell me where you are, and where you’re trying to get to.
For mentoring requests — one-to-one guidance for marketers and future leaders who want to sharpen how they think, not just add tactics.
The short version
Mentoring is about judgement, not tactics, so the useful note tells me about your situation and the decision or gap you’re wrestling with. I take a limited number of these, so specificity helps me tell whether I’m the right person.
What to include
For a mentorship request, include:
- Where you are — role, years in, agency or brand side.
- The specific thing you’re trying to work out (a decision, a gap, a crossroads).
- What you’ve already tried or considered.
- What good would look like for you.
